wat up ppl?? haha. yea so am stuck at home rite now and freaking bored so i is decide to update my blog. the holidays were fine at first, it was great to taste home food again but once the results came out it was all downhill for me. dont even ask bout my results its just depressing to say it. anyways i try to keep myself busy mainly by downloading and watching movies and facebooking haha. however facebook kind of gets annoying once u see ure homepage and its filled with ppl status like "oh i love you" or "oh with out u there is no need to live" and my goodness it keeps repeating everyday no wait every hour!! haha i'm not gonna say who i'm refering to no no no i've had first hand experience wat happens when u mention who it is and it aint the best feeling but in this case it could be anyone. but hey thts wat happens when freedom of expression exists, everyone got an opinion

as for movies i watched three great ones this couple of days two from this year and one from 2004. Collateral starring Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx i tell u one thing i hate Tom Cruise but after watching this film i got all the respect in the world for him. this is the first time tht a movie made me believe tht a bad guy was doing a gd thing for society. the other two were Valkyrie and Monsters vs Aliens which was pretty hilarious.

wow its been more thn a month since i posted a post lol.... well anyways last month was pretty rough in terms of exams!!! marketing was smooth , micro was well a bit hard i know i screwed up part C which would be the essay questions which carried... well i cant remember lol but its a lot for two questions only!! QA and Accounting was just horrible for me..... accounting was just a bullshit paper i mean it was absolute torture....... as for QA i think i lost the ability to understand questions cause i felt like a two year old in that exam, i mean each question i just didnt get it so fingers crossed on tht one....

anyways after the QA exam me and my friends drove off to Serian and we needed it desperately and i needed it badly........ serian was away from the main kuching city and it was more peaceful and definetly we were not going to see any swinburne lecturers there so yea it was great..... a peaceful place it was i must say and yes we didnt have our lunch so yes we did stop for lunch and guess wat we found there a KFC!! yes i know it may not be shocking to the u guys (chinese and local students) but for me an international who would have thought KFC would be here. so yea we got out of the car and the ppl around us were stunned to see us, i guess they dont get a lot of internationals. so we got royal treatment from KFC, they opened the door for us and welcomed us we had to go and order through one counter only although there were two but we realised only few could speak english.... anyways we ate our lunch there and we decided lets go further than serian and yes we did but we were just going through his one way road for like an hour and all we saw was the beautiful green scenery and yea we liked it but it was a little too much so we turned around fearing we could end up some where wierd.........

Then came the movie transformer yes we bought the ticket 6 hrs prior to the the movie slot cause it was the premier....... it was a good movie and it was hilariously funny but was too long for my liking and yes megan fox is hot lol......

anyways now i'm in Abu Dhabi rite now spending some time with mom and dad.....

wats up!! yup am excited like hell cause of the recent blockbuster movie tht i watched TERMINATOR SALVATION!!

ok first thought when i heard of this movie coming out was the most obvious one and tht was there would be no arnold swchwarzenegger. then the inclusion of a new actor sam worthington and the first thing that popped up is who the hell is he?? so yea i had doubts tht this movie would be a success i mean its rare tht a sequence of movies would not have it main character in all of it movies.

so yea i payed RM9 went in and came out screaming and it wasnt because the movie was bad or because of christian bale or the surprise appearence of arnold swchwarzenegger it was because of sam worthington!!! i mean he took this character of Marcus Wright and made it into the most important character in the movie. aite ironically the worst part of the film was the appearance from swchwarzenneger it kinda suked cause the movie probably didnt need it as it was nearing the ending. plus since when does connor not know this terminator i mean there were no words exchanged..... anyways this i would rate 9.9/10 hahahaha so yea this would be the movie of the year. oh btw i'm gonna be making a list of the top ten movies of the year at the end of the year so yea watch out for tht.

great relaxing weekend

i had a pretty good weekend starting off with a great friday night... a nice surprise birthday party was thrown for Harry!! so me and the rest who were there were at bings having cake and we were all just chilling. then we took the party somewhere else and tht was silhoutte lol i think i spelled tht correctly and we had a blast in there. then saturday was again another night out chilling with friends at the very same place. then pushed on to sunday where i went to damai to enjoy the beach and my goodness it damn relaxing. aite am too lazy to even post pics from this weekend u guys can check it out on facebook .

Part 2: Angel and ....... where were the demons!!??

aite here is part 2 and its gonna be short

so this past saturday i went to watch Angel and Demons it eager interest to find out how it was going to be. ok honestly i'll give it 8/10 for a storyline it definetly kept me interested but i still dont get the title angel and demons. yes there were angels but who were the demons?? i can only assume that the demons were the illumunati, btw wat a kool name lol. anyways it had a nice twist which was pretty unpredictable so well done to the writers. movie of the year?? nah it cant be, it wasnt as compelling as its predesscor The Da Vinci Code.

Part 1: Mall Cop..... fantastically funny.... but bad audience

hey hey everyone,

so its seems like i have been delaying each of my post these days purely cause i'm lazy to do so. so i have decided to do two posts here on the spot so this is part 1. This past wednesday i went with my friends to watch a comedy thriller MALL COP. From the first time me and my friends saw the trailer it was a must watch movie. this movie was a hit for sure with it grossing around $176 million which is shockingly more than THE INTERNATIONAL and THE READER. so well done to kevin james who was the main guy in the film. however i still think that LOVE MATTERS is the funniest comedy this year by a distance. anyways i give MALL COP 8.5/10.

now here's the issue when watching a comedy film in a cinema. u need to have the right audience who are capable of understanding the minor sarcastic jokes made in these sorts of movies. the audience did laugh at the right spots but they were pretty pathetic when they started laughing for some of the serious stuff in the movie. it just totally ruined the story of the movie. anyways this aint the first i have experienced this it was last year august when i went to watch X-Files everybody started laughing when there was nothing to laugh about unless they were all free thinkers cause they laughed at very religious moment. ayaya anyways tht was probably the only problem tht day.

Wolverine...good but too fake

yo yo everyone,

again sorry for the wait in updating my blog.

well finally i was able to go watch a movie this past saturday and it was well built and hyped up movie of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I had some what mixed reactions to this film due to the consistency of the original story of Wolverine to the cartoon series portraying wolverine. Now many may say that cartoons dont tell the full story or some may say that it doesnt make sense but mark my words the character of Wolverine was not tainted at all in order to make the cartoons look better. The cartoon used the real history of Wolverine and portrayed it properly on television. Basically you will see a scene where William Stryker tries an experiment on Wolverine which makes his bones turns into adamantium which virtually makes him indestructable. Well once that experiment finished Wolverines memories are lost at that instance. Well in the movie it doesnt happen... why?? maybe to give it some twist but ure kinda losing the audience when u change someone's history especially wolverine's history. As for the graphics they were too fake and it makes u virtually laugh when u see the scenes in this movie because its so fake that u cant take it seriously. This is where the trilogy of the X-Men series was able to overcome.

well apart from those two negatives the movie was pretty good. Hugh Jackman has really adapted this character beautifully and good to see him portray some of the feelings that you would never have thought Wolverine would show. I'll give this movie around 7.5/10. Oh one more thing what a great combination between Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and Liev Schreiber (Victor Creed) great chemistry between the two.

yeah! its mid sem break.... my ASS!!!

hey everyone,

sorry for not updating my blog recently been way too busy.... anyways its mid sem break now and as for my title of this blog its a clear msg tht i didnt have a break this week....... it was all bout SWDC a debate tournament that we were hosting for about 15 schools in kuching... from april 20 to 23rd and suprisingpy it was fun even better than i expected.. i shitty part was waking up at 6am every day and been in uni till 7pm or worse till 9pm... stress levels were at its highest during these days and it was pretty obvious by the end of the event me and the organising commitee were fuked!! we were all have eye bags by the end... it was good to find some new friends in some the skools that came over.... most were friendly but some were not capable of saying hi lol... anyways the debate finals were intriguing and i got to be MC for like three minutes lol... as for my job title for the event was HEAD RUNNER.... yea eventually from being head runnner to being a normal runner it shows tht not all the runners were available for the event. but the ones tht did show up did a great effort and i really do thank them...

aite tht all for now.... oooo one more thing i did get a chance to watch al pacino film righteous kill and it suked lets just put in as one of the flop of the year next to the International...

aite so last week was best weekend ever this time i decided to go one up by having a awesome weekend ever this time........ started on thursday with a birthday dinner thrown by adrien which was perfect, the food was delicious and it was for free!!! then friday it was movie time.... the movie tht i watched Soul Men which i have to give 9.5/10 i mean it was a very good serious comedy type film.... it was the first the first time tht i saw samuel L Jackson in a comedy type film and he was brilliant....... on saturday nite it was clubbing time!!! all i can say it was fun.... no words to describe it........ sunday was quite but had free dinner again due to easter dinner!! so awesome weekend!!

hey everyone,

aite finally i was able to go watch a movie this week and what better day to go thn on a wednesday where it is RM5 for the ticket..... the movie tht i went to watch was KNOWING which really didnt exceed my expectations of being a great film especially with Nicolas Cage being the lead actor. the movie went from being serious to an absolute joke towards the end.... the movie seems to be a rip off the day the earth stood still just tht they switched the endings where in KNOWING the Earth is destroyed.... i liked the whole numbers concept but one thing the film fail to explain is why those numbers were cruical and where is the link to John Koestler (Nicolas Cage)... i mean why make a movie of something which has no link to the lead actor...... basically ppl wasted two hours of their life to watch a pointless predictable film in tht sense the day the earth stood still was better... i wouldn't call it flop just yet like i said the first half was pretty good but the ending just sucked!

anyways its gonna be a long weekend due to Good Friday and Easter Sunday so it gives me a chance to catch up with other movies tht i have missed out.

Wrestlemania 25

aite if ure not a WWE fan then dont bother reading the blog cause its gonna be all bout wrestling on this post

aite this past sunday was Wrestlemania 25 and to be honest it has to be one of the worst wrestlemanias ever! the one match tht stole the show was undertaker vs shawn michaels and of course undertaker won..... even though it was the best match of the show it wasnt the greatest match tht undertaker and shawn michaels have ever done... it just shows how bad the show was.... of course john cena won the world heavyweight championship such a predictable outcome... the rest of wrestlemania was below average now lets focus on the main event triple h vs randy orton for the WWE Championship.... now i expected randy orton to win and yea it didnt make sense after all he attacked the whole of triple h's family so yea triple should be the one winning.... but for the last two months triple has been attacking randy orton everyweek so techinically he got is revenge already!! so why does triple h need to win again at wrestlemania and as predicted it was the worst match of the night.... and why is tht?? cause triple h won!! it just made sense to give randy orton the win.... anyways it was dissappointing to see what happened on sunday especially being a big WWE fan...

izzzzz best weekend ever!!

aite finally a brilliant weekend has passed by and it could not have come at a worse time with the accounting quiz today so yea i didnt study!

friday was surprisingly quite but saturday was a day to remember... went for debate and i have no idea why i went cause i didnt even present the case cause the others were taking too long to finish up their cases!! anyways later in the night i threw a birthday dinner for my class mates (the chinese) at jambu!! i had already thrown another one for my friends on wednesday.... there were around 16 people tht came and we had a blast.... oh btw thnks for the gifts ppl.... well one thing i would wont to forget is the bill!! lol.... aite so since it was saturday night and most of us were dressed up me and the guys thought we should go to impanema for drinks and thts what we did..... me, shaveen, alex, harry, lynnette, racheal and jerry and my brother were off after the dinner. things got better from there on..... drank three corona bottles had three tequila shots then it was off to the dance floor at soho and the most perfect songs were playing.... It was really a KRAZY NIGHT!!

so its been 2 days since i did my last post and there is a good reason why i haven't updated my blog cause..... NOTHING HAS HAPPENED!! well till today atleast....

it was presentation day.... group case study for marketing and we were answering questions regarding metrosexual.... now we did everything last minute but our slides were finished in time and i give props to harry who did the design for the presentation the others were jay, shaveen and lau... so everythings going well and our presentation was really funny and each of us answered the questions infact we nailed it to the point where we didnt think our marketing tutor would question us..... but........

well our tutor decided tht she needed to find some flaw in our presentation and suprise suprise she picked me! she said i didnt answer the question!!??? ok here was the question from the text book: BASED ON THE FORECAST OF THE MEN GROOMING MARKET, LIST TWO OPPORTUNITIES FOR NEW PRODUCTS AND SERVICES IN THE MENS MARKET.

now clearly there was no mention of saying give two new products it said two opportunities for the new products!!! the questions was never specific so i assumed it was asking for opportunites and i answered it by saying DEMAND & BRANDING as two opportunites! anyways me and the tutor had a heated argument regarding the question and finally she gave me the correct answer i mean it just made sense at the end and i thank my team mates for backing me up in the process....

aite she knew we were pissed and she decided to give us a five min break (just our group)! me and shaveen went out had a burger and the rest were just chatting... we needed to cool down... finally when we did we back in class and she said she was impressed with our answers!! yes finally!!

funny how towards the end of the lesson it was our group who was answering all of the questions regarding macroenviroment and yea me and tutor finally put our differences aside... i think haha!

the frustration didnt end there today i threw a birthday treat for some of my friends and i asked them to be ready by 5.15pm guess wat happened??.... they thought it was april fools!!!! wtf!!! how childish could they be!!! man tht pissed me off seriously... eventually we had the dinner...

ayayaya wow it was really a frustrating "APRIL FOOLS" day....

aite i was in no mood to blog bout 12 ROUNDS due to the stupid EARTH HOUR yesterday...

so i was pretty impressed by john cena's movie 12 rounds.... it had good action and a very complex storyline and quite surprising it wasnt as predictable of a movie as i thought it would be. for an amatuer actor like john cena he did a pretty good job...... his emotions were well presented and i felt he gave the movie the zip it needed..... but as usual WWE movies are usually a disaster during the opening weekend... the movie mad $1.6 million which is pretty poor considering the Punisher made more thn tht....

anyways this weekend suked from EARTH HOUR to doing absolutley nothing on sunday... ayaya and it was my birthday weekend!!! anyways this is all for today

man EARTH HOUR just sucked!! plain and simple.... the campaign is trying to make a difference... what fuking difference can one hour do!!! u know wats stupid is tht swinburne actually did it... again i have to ask whether swinburne knows tht there are students living in the hostel!! seriously someone needs to inform them tht there is a hostel inside the campus!!

the whole concept is fuking stupid and i was just laughing everytime a car passed by the uni... i mean isnt this "EARTH HOUR" suppose to reduce the greenhouse gas effect??? dont cars release pollution into the air!! and not one person has yet to tell me why this is a good idea... not one!!

oh btw wats swinburne doing in this whole EARTH HOUR concept?? do they think they are making us happy by doing this??? man just run like a freaking university thts all we care about.. u hypocrites!!

turning 18

it was march 27 1991 tht illankoon mudiyanselage kasun dayanath illankoon was born and now has turned 18 years old making me a legal adult! i am a sri lankan but lived in UAE for 17 years only visiting sri lanka during the holidays and yes i cant speak my national language and i have been criticised badly for tht but logically it aint my fault......

anyways coming to swinburne i was 16years old and was turning 17 in a months time but once everybody found out tht i was 16 the nickname "BABY" came up and till this day am called tht....

anyways there is one thing i can say tht the legal age is just a mere barrier for underage teenagers..... i think teenager who are below 18 should be allowed to the things an 18year old can do....... i mean their aint no difference.... its bullshit to have this barrier in my opinion but anyways thts how the world is....

if i were to describe my life i would say the first 16 years were dull... i was obese, lazy, depressed and suked at studies....... ever since joining swinburne things have chnged dramatically from being a un socialable person to talking to everyone in swinburne..... i lost 16kgs, lazy aint an option anymore and depressed aint in my dictionary anymore... studies are going really well heck am still getting C's D's in swinburne by studying just 12hrs before the test!!

i wanna thnk my mama and dada for taking care of me really well and teaching me the values of life and also thank god for blessing me for the last 1.5 years which have been the best days of my life

as usual ppl expect me to throw a party so i am actually its gonna be a treat..... hopefully on wednesday or thursday..... an as usual i'll be out tonight for a movie this time 12 rounds lets see whether john cena can nail it out of the park

ban experimental testing of animals

it pretty late rite now so i'll try to keep it short

it was another day of debate training and this time we did British Parliament style debate tht means four teams comprised of two people in each...... i teamed up with adrien ting and we were the closing opposition..... the motion was "THW Ban animal testing"... it was not such a compliated subject but it would have been if the opening government(they were supporting the ban) had stated their stance properly.... obviously as the opposition were against banning of experimental treatments so yea we were very rude in the debate.... actually the whole debate turned into a joke when we started reasoning why a rabbit should not be killed and a rat should be killed instead... which makes no sense since both are of the rodent kingdom....... anyways the best part is tht me and adrien won!!!! we had no idea how but we won so dont really care bout the reason....

now of course in a debate u have a different opinion from wat u think of in real life... to be honest i think animal testing should continue cause it works and human will not be experimented on cause it costs thousands of dollars to convine ppl to do it.... if u dont wanna do this then please be my guest and convert to a vegetarian cause if u dont then ure a hypocrite who goes against animal testing yet u eat them.... again its just logical so yea tht wat i think....

aite as u can see from my title todays blog will be bout the university that i study in.... lets focus on the word the UNIVERSITY which clearly swinburne sarawak does not understand the concept of this word.......

you see for many of us coming to university is like an upgrade from high school..... in high school u where uniforms u follow teachers rules and basically u follow the schools rules and u must obey them..... now in a freaking UNIVERSITY things change ppl are more free to do what they want and it should be the case 24/7 and the uni has no right to stop people from what they are doing.... first thing swinburne needs to realise is tht not everyone in nerd!!!! (no offense to nerds) most of the ppl like to enjoy thus they go out and they come bak after midnight. now explain me this why the security guards have to take down our names??? wats the point??? of course the answer is simple we get reported to the swinburne authoraties who then send u a letter warning u not to do it again.... i got one letter like tht and i did get lecture at the same time but all i could be thinking about is tht this aint skool i have done nothing wrong plus dark knight had released the same day so i was kind of excited..... next the facilities in swinburne must be at use 24/7!!! do they not know tht ppl live inside the campus??? they must be blind to be honest..... from the gym to the labs they all have to be open 24/7... whats the point on wasting money on cameras and on security guards??? ayayaya its really frustrating to call this a UNIVERSITY.... i rather call this a school and u know wats funny ppl do call it a skool....... swinburne must remember one thing they have to make sure tht they market themselves as a UNIVERSITY and freaking let go of stupid rules like u cant go out after 12!!!! if u want tht to work make sure the whole of kuching shuts down by 10.00pm which is never going to happen!! lastly the lecturers in swinburne have no right to stop lecturing just because ppl start talking....... they are paid to teach so do ure job and if ppl are talking well the results will be shown in the final exam.... i mean it just so annoying when a lecturer stops.... grow up dammit!!!

there are tons of problems tht swinburne have got to solve in order to call this a real UNIVERSITY.

TAKEN VS THE INTERNATIONAL

well as you can see from the above paragraph which movie i liked during the weekend. if i was to put taken vs international in a football match i would say in the first half it would be 4-0 to taken and by full time it would be 9-2 to taken. a red card for the international for poor directing and a yellow card for a poor ending. basically taken destroyed the international this weekend!! it was suppose to be weekend of intense competition between two well build up hyped up movies and i can officially say that THE INTERNATIONAL becomes the first flop of 2009.... shame. the only good part of the international was the actor clive owen who acted brilliantly in a film that was really directed poorly and naomi watts was probably the worst part of the film..... cant blame her though she was given a shitty character!! the movie sucked so bad three of my friends fell asleep me and the others were trying to figure what the film was trying to prove!! by the time the movie ended we were just damn bored and on our way back from the cinema we just started singing songs just to keep ourselves entertained!! as for TAKEN there aint nothing much to say cause it was just tht damn good and ppl please do go and watch it in the cinema!! dont go buying the second hand cd's!! feel the intensity in the cinema!! anyways TAKEN now takes up the no 1 spot for movie of the year with the reader at second place in my opinion.

ayayaya it was an up and down weekend to be honest....... but its funny how time passes so quickly and its already a sunday..... wish there was a extra day's break but hey this is how life is i guess...

aite lets get straight to the point. i read this article today about "EARTH HOUR" which is a campaign to use no electricity for one hour not just one country but the whole world gets together and uses no electricity for one hour. ok here is the main problem tht at least there are some people around the world where one hour of their day where they dont use electricity!!! and the funny bout it is tht the majority of the world population at one point will not use electricity for one hour! the reason for this "EARTH HOUR" is to reduce greenhouse gas effect and to reduce global warming and this "EARTH HOUR" campaign aint the way to start to reduce greenhouse gas effect and global warming. it starts with the governments around the world to introduce a policy that everybody must comply to cause rite now i dont see this "EARTH HOUR" campaign being enforced on to the people cause there is something called HUMAN RIGHTS thts why the governments of each individual countries should bring up a policy tht people will be satisfied with. its true global warming is dangerous to this planet countries like bangladesh, maldives, and also holland are the one's who will suffer the most. however i doubt tht the whole world is willing to comply to this "EARTH HOUR" and well gd luck to most ppl who are willing to do this and it also depends at which time zone u live in.... ayaya its a whole mess this concept!

aite next its a movie i just finish watching before heading off to class and tht was the curious case of benjamin button. Now it aint movie of the year in my opinion but brad pitt (who i hate) was brilliant and the character he played must have been difficult for him to adapt to especially looking at the past movies tht he has acted in. his persona in this film was very different, with the way he walked, reacted, talked, his emotions, and with tht sort of south texan accent it made him look really good in this role. i liked the storyline but i think the movie was playing too safe and it didnt want to take a chance by making the movie more adventurous which it needed especially been a 166min movie.

oh why do i hate brad pitt?? well i just do.... no reason... its the same for tom cruise

yea yea i watched TAKEN but me not want to comment yet cause i havent seen THE INTERNATIONAL yet. hopefully watching it tomorrow and then i'll decide which one was more worth it!

ok just one little advise to all u cinema goers can u pls check logic at the door before deciding to go to the cinema especially after seeing the trailer heck even the name of the movie suggest tht it gonna be a thriller killer movie... i mean wat do u think the movie TAKEN means!! and even the poster gives a huge clue cause in the poster there is a word call "KILL" so dont start screaming for fear for no reason!! ayayaya some annoying women behind me was screaming its wasnt even tht disgusting.... how bout this check whether it is 18+ or even R-Rated before u buy the tickets!! it shud be a pretty gd clue tht this movie is gonna have some horrifc killings!!

basically the whole point of this blog is to give my thoughts on movies cause i am a movie freak ever since i came to kuching. but as a side not i'll be writing bout other stuff like wrestling and stuff tht happens in the uni i study in, swinburne, and also my life!!

well for the last two weeks its all bout the cinema.... well most of it. anyways it have been movie time for me and it has been kind of a disappointing start to the year especially the movie punisher. who the hell decided to make a sequel of tht!! i mean it was just plain stupid and the only good part bout it was the villain jigsaw!! the two movies tht have rocked 2009 has to be watchmen and the reader..... now i know many say watchmen sucks cause it makes no sense...... well actually it does all i can say is watch movies like dark knight and u'll get the meaning of these sorts of films.... the reader was brilliant it has to be number 1 movie of this year or atleast for march. kate winstlet was brilliant and storyline was simple to understand and also not suprised tht kate winstlet won the oscar for the best actress.

two movies tht were competing last weekend were dragon ball evolution and the race to witch mountain. which one was better?? hands down race to witch mountain!! dwayne johnson was brilliant his chemistry with the kids was great and also the film had a great storyline. dragonball was ok but can someone explain to me why it was edited?? the original time for the movie is 90min but when i was watching it was only 75min!! it doesnt make sense!!

well like i said it not all bout the cinema the other thing tht has consumed me these two weeks has been debating!!!! we kicked some ass in unimas where me edina and adrien won 2 out of 3 matches which aint bad for first timers! oh btw the one round we lost was because our seniors decided to demolish us by using BIG WORDS in their first sentences and we were sitting there looking confused.

and yes i love WWE!! but sometimes they can be really dumb because this week they ruined one of the best storylines heading into wrestlemania........ jericho in a handicap match?? common!! it shud have been stone cold vs jericho!! man it really got me mad..... yes ppl i know its fake so dont remind me!!
